Westlake Baseball Association Families,
With the holidays right around the corner, now is the time to start discussing the WBA Spring 2021 Baseball season!
As Ventura County continues to trend positively with respect to the pandemic and with kids resuming school soon on a modified schedule, we are more hopeful than ever that we will be able to conduct our Spring 2021 baseball season safely and prudently. Our interleague partners and other baseball leagues in Ventura County are all planning to play as well.
As such, please note the following:
Registration:
As you know, normally registration for the Spring season opens on November 1st, with Early Bird special pricing ending December 15th. This year, registration will open around November 15th and early bird pricing will end on December 31st.
Initial registration this season will consist of signing up to play, but not paying the registration fees until a later date. Once we have the official greenlight from the County and the school district to play in the Spring, we will ask each of you to re-enter the registration process and pay the registration fees at that time.
There will be much more information to follow on the registration process and the fee structure for 2021. After the cancellation of much of last season, the league will be looking into various ways it can to give back to our baseball community.
Other Calendar Items:
Normally, evaluations occur early in January each year. This season, evaluations will likely take place towards the end of January. This means teams will not be formed until around February 15th and we would target Opening Day for March 6, 2021.
As we continue to plan and prepare for our Spring 2021 season, look for further announcements this winter.
We sincerely hope that each of your families remains a part of our growing baseball community. The 2020 season was off to a great start when the pandemic struck and we plan to come back better and stronger in 2021 and are hopeful we can give the kids the opportunity to play a sport they love in a safe and fun environment for everyone.
