Westlake Baseball needs qualified, dedicated individuals to work as umpires!

This is a great after-school and Saturday job for mature, responsible teenagers and adults in the Spring and Sundays in the Fall.  We schedule you according to your experience and availability, and you can earn good money.  (You don't think we get yelled at by coaches for free, do you?)  Each season, several kids make more than $1000 during the season!

Umpires participate in a six-week training course at Westlake Elementary School (Pinto field). You don't have to have been a player, but you should have a basic knowledge of baseball.  Last year more than 60 umpires, many of whom are players in our league, were trained and officiated at WBA games.  Youth umpires must be 13 years old by February 29, 2021.  Adult umps are also needed, especially for the older divisions.

Umpire Meeting Dates:

We are moving the training to Saturdays, outside on the WLE Pinto Field.  YOU WILL NEED TO BRING A BEACH CHAIR TO SIT IN.

Most dates will be 10:00am-11:30am, with two exceptions.  The schedule will now be:

The following is now the training schedule:

Saturday, 2/27 from 10:00am - 12:00pm
Tuesday, 3/2 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Friday, 3/5 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday, 3/6 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Tuesday, 3/9 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Friday, 3/12 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm

The on-field clinic has yet to be scheduled.  It may be inserted into this schedule and force a move of one of the classes.
