What equipment does my child need and who provides?
Westlake Baseball provides– uniform jersey, hat, socks, and belt.
Players must provide– USA stamped bat, glove, batting helmet, cleats (no metal allowed except for Bronco American and Pony), protective cup, and pants (managers will determine pant color based on team name/uniform colors).

Westlake Baseball Association allows both USA and USSSA stamped bats no larger than 2 3/4 in size.
When does the Spring season begin?
Practices will begin the first week of February. In late January, managers will contact player’s family to let them know about their Spring team. Games will begin after the WBA Opening Day on the first Saturday of March.
When does the Spring season end?
Regular season games will be played into mid-May. Playoff games (Shetland American and up) will begin mid-May and most often conclude by the end of May.
What days will my child practice?
Managers are volunteer and therefore all practices scheduled are based on their availability. There is no predetermination for this until teams are drafted and managers notify players the last week of January. Depending on the age division, teams will typically practice 2-3 times per week until games begin in March. Teams will have field practices and may also have batting practices.
Where are practices located?
Field practices will be held at Westlake Elementary and Westlake Village Community Park (adjacent to YMCA). Some managers will utilize local area batting cages for batting practices.
What days will my child have games?
The WBA Commissioner and inter-leagues determine the game schedule. Schedules are typically released the last week of February. Regular season games begin after the WBA Opening Day on the first Saturday of March. Most teams will have 2 games per week (1 weekday, 1 Saturday). There can be exceptions to this in which rain cancellations/rescheduling, a bye week, or playoffs alters the schedule resulting in a Sunday game or 1-3 games per week.
Where are games located?
WBA’s home field is located at Westlake Elementary. WBA also utilizes the Westlake Village Community Park (adjacent to YMCA). Depending on the age division, inter-league games may be played in the areas of Agoura, Calabasas, Newbury Park and Camarillo. Please refer to WBA’s field locations for specifics.
Does WBA give trophies?
All Foal, Shetland, and Pinto players will receive a participation trophy. 1st and 2nd place trophies are awarded to the tournament finalists in Shetland American, Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony. Additionally, 1st and 2nd place trophies will be awarded to the top two teams of the regular season standings in Shetland American, Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony.
